Dr. Orleans completed his undergraduate education at Franklin and Marshall College in 1965. In 1969 he received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Orleans has done medical peer reviews at the hospital, county, and state levels and has served for six years from 1997 through 2003 on the Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance. He is a member of the Montgomery County and Maryland State Medical Societies as well as the American Medical Association. He has served on the Medical Advisory Board of United Healthcare and as a Medical Reviewer for the Delmarva Foundation Medical care since 1995. He has two children. He is no longer performing deliveries.
